The women of the Waverley family are heirs to a legacy of magic - the kitchen garden, famous for its apple tree that produces fruit prophetic, and its edible flowers, imbued with special powers that affect anyone who eat them.
Owns a catering company, Claire Waverley prepares dishes with their mystical plants - from the wounds that help keep a secret until the mouths-of-wolf to discourage amorous intentions. Meanwhile, her elderly cousin Evanelle is known for distributing unexpected gifts whose value becomes clear later mysteriously. They are the last members of the Waverley family - except for Claire's rebellious sister, Sydney, who fled the city for many years.

Charming and poignant, this fascinating novel will surely enthrall the reader.

Opinion: This book is the first magical novel, I've read the writer Sarah Addison Allen, and I must say that writing has a catchy, creative and amazing.
Through her writing, the reader is transported to a world where the characters live their day to day with everything good and bad that implies, that way making it an integral character of the story.
A story focusing mainly on love in all its aspects, and forgiveness as a way to forget the past and start a new life.
A touching novel, where they lack an apple tree with hes own will, and a city where every family has a peculiar characteristic, which is transmitted across generations.
A novel not to be missed.
