A Kiss at Midnight - Eloisa James - Opinion

Synopsis: Forced by her stepmother to attend a ball, Kate meets a prince, and decides he's anything but charming. A clash of wits and wills ensues, but they both know their irresistible attraction will lead nowhere - for Gabriel is promised to another woman.

Opinion: In this novel inspired by the fairy tale 'Cinderella', we find a 'Cinderella' and an unconventional prince. In fact, nothing in this novel, leads us to think of a traditional fairy tale. Here, there is no heroism in excess, or laments, quite the contrary. Throughout history, the author presents us believable characters with qualities and flaws, like any human being. In this novel, the 'Cinderella' is nothing fragile, and is not waiting for a prince to rescue her, and Prince Charming is anything but charming, and the whole book is divided between the importance of money and love.
It's given us to know, yet, a godmother without a wand and with opinions very advanced for its time, a half-sister, beautiful and silly, but nothing bad, and a stepmother, who is really bad.
A Kiss at Midnight is a novel light, delicious and charming, which leads us to dream and believe that love can happen even when it seems impossible and improbable.
A novel with great humor and comic characters, with a easy write, where the scenery is enchanting.
I really enjoyed and highly recommend, is ideal to relax the day-to-day.
